Bob Feldman, President of HPC Marketing, moderated an outstanding panel on the use of technology fusion to create corporate growth.  Examples of converging technologies from different technology spaces were described, producing a startling range of ideas useful in any industry.

Tim Surgenor, President, CEO, and Director of Cyberkinetics Nanotechnology Systems and a veteran of Genzyme and Haemonetics, described the combination of diagnostics and therapeutics in medical devices, together with joint venture strategy.

Thomas Forest Farb, President of Estabrook Ventures and founder and CEO of a number of pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostic businesses, described the successful combination of sales channels in pharma and medical device businesses.  Tom also spoke on the nature of creating innovative organizations by deliberately putting differing backgrounds together.

John Santini, President and CEO of Microchips, described elements of the accelerating convergence of healthcare and IT.  Microchips is a great example – implantable drug delivery microchips.

The Corporate Development Forum is open to VP Corporate Development, Strategy, CEO, CFO, and private equity ACG members who are responsible for acquisitions, joint ventures, and other growth strategies.  Meetings are at the Emerging Enterprise Center in Waltham.
